Water Rationing In Seremban

SEREMBAN: Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (Sains) will begin water rationing in several areas in the Seremban district this Sunday due to the hot weather and drop in rainfall in water catchment areas in the district.

Sains corporate affairs and communications manager, Azlan Abdul Aziz, in a statement Friday said the drop in rainfall had caused a drop in river water-level at entry points to water-treatment plants at Pantai, Sungai Ngoi-Ngoi and Sungai Mahang which supply treated water to areas around Nilai, Sendayan, LBJ and Lenggeng in the Seremban district.

He said the water rationing this Sunday for Zone A will be from 8am-8pm and areas involved are Taman Eka Matahari, Taman Planter's Haven, Taman Arab Malaysia (Taman Desa Ria), Nilai 3, Nilai Impian, Nilai 7, Desa Chempaka/Jasmin, Kota Seriemas, KLIA Quarters, Kolej Jururawat KPJ and Nilai Perdana.

While the rationing for Zone B will be 8pm-8am and involved the areas of Kondok; Kg LBJ; Taman Gadong Jaya 1, 2 dan 3; Seri Sendayan; Sendayan Indah, Felda Sendayan; Kampung Gadong Jaya; and Kampung Jimah Baru.

Azlan said the areas involved are at the end of the water distribution system and if there were a drop in the water level the pressure would not be strong enough to supply water.

He said the rationing would continue until the water levels at treatment plants returned to normal, that is, above the critical level.

Azlan said Sains would take steps to distribute water to the affected areas.
